Lookup Your Account Information
(Account Lookup Tool)
Use the Account Lookup Tool to find answers about your account(s):
- What is your personal account name?
- Does your account have OCE and/or course allocations?
- How much disk space (quota) does your account have?
- What is your weekly allocation of Computing Units?
- Which computer hosts (facilities) will recognize your account?
- If you have a connected Laser Printing Account, what is its balance?
- What is the status of your account?
Accounts may be suspended or closed for various reasons. There are recommended steps to prepare for account closing. The account status codes shown by the Lookup Tool are:OK - open and ready to use. isf - "insufficient funds": suspended because your weekly allocation of Computing Units has been exhausted. nrs - suspended because you were not found in the Registrar's roster. exp - suspended because the associated class ended or you are not enrolled. adm - suspended. Please contact the Accounts Office.
Change Or Replace Your Password
(ACS Global Password Change Tool)
If you know your old password OR your
TritonLink PAC code you can use the
this tool to change or replace your existing
password on ACS supported computer
systems (and optionally change your UCSD Network/Dialin
Password). You will need to know your
account name, e.g. jsmith, and your student PID,
e.g. a01234567.
If you don't know your old password or
your TritonLink PAC code, you should visit the
Accounts Office
with your student ID card to obtain a new password.
Check Or Change the Destination Of Your @UCSD E-mail Address
You can set the delivery destination specified for
your "@UCSD" e-mail to any e-mail address
where you currently have e-mail service, on or off campus.
Here's a list showing the
default mailhosts
that ACS initially uses to set up each account type.
Register For An ACS Personal Account
(ACSREG)
Accounts are created automatically for most
new undergraduate students prior to
orientation.
Typically students receive an Enrollment
Appointment Notice
at college orientation which includes their
computer account name, password and mail
server host.
If you do not have your account information
you can use the Account Lookup Tool, above, to find
out if an account has already been established for you.
Students who are currently enrolled
and who did not receive an account
automatically (particularly
graduate students) can apply for an
ACS account using the ACSREG mechanism
described below. However, it should be
noted that some departments either choose to,
or are responsible for providing the
primary computing support (e.g. E-mail service)
to their own graduate
students. If you are a graduate student,
it would be advisable to check
with your department before applying for an ACS account.
One service that is available to all general-campus
students is login access to the Windows PC computers
managed by ACS in locations such as UCSD libraries.
All students are eligible to use ACSREG to obtain an
account for that purpose.

The utility also provides a way to alleviate your mail problems by getting rid of old messages, either deleting them or moving them out of your mailbox.
