Faculty and Staff: Changing Passwords

There are several types of accounts and passwords:

Network ACCOUNT

Network usernames and passwords are used for email service on popmail.ucsd.edu, dial-in access, wireless network access and Web proxy service.

If you know your password, but would like to change it, use ACT's (formerly Network Operation) Network Password change tool .

WebCT, Webboard, Active Directory accounts

WebCT uses the campus Active Directory for authentication. You can reset your password at: Changing Your Active Directory password.  If you do not know who to contact in your department to change your Active Directory password, contact IWDC.

You can change your Webboard password by logging into Webboard, then clicking on "More..." then "My profile".

Course Specific Instructor and TA accounts on Unix systems

If you know your password, but would like to change it, you can use the ACS Global Password Change tool. Leave the Student ID field blank.
If you don't know your password, please contact the ACS Accounts Office.

Accounts on fee-for-service sdcc12.ucsd.edu

If you know your password, but would like to change it,
login to sdcc12 and run the passwd command. Details
